About Japan SPA Wellness Association
President’s greeting
Japan SPA Wellness Association was established to develop the esthetics industry and to improve the social status of estheticians. Established in March 2004, and received an NPO approval from Tokyo on April 1st 2005.
Estheticians require a wide range of knowledge and high technical skills. To achieve this, Japan SPA Wellness Association takes a part in a wide variety of activities ranging from holding academic conferences, administration of qualification tests, and offering a variety of workshops as well as salon certification.
Japan has finally emerged from the long tunnel of deflation and is aiming for new growth with “Abenomics.” One of the players taking part in the new economic growth is the health-related industry, especially beauty and esthetics industries also known as creative domestic industry that are expected to have a significant leap in the near future.
Japan SPA Wellness Association, with the help of current economic situation, endeavors to take two major new initiatives both nationally and internationally.
The first is the implementation of “Esthetics Advanced-level Tests.”It is the highest level test in the industry offered only through our association under the certification of Japan Esthetic Center that is designed for those who have taken more than 1000 hours of esthetics training.
The second is becoming a member of International Professional Standards Network (IPSN) in an effort to achieve a mutual certification of credentials with foreign countries. IPSN which has its branches in Australia, New Zealand, Canada,Hong Kong and Korea endeavors to unify the qualification level and achieve mutual certification to establish beauty and esthetics industry in the countries of the Pacific rim. Japan SPA Wellness Association joined the organization as a representative of Japan.
Through joining new organizations of both national and international status, we aim to provide valuable programs for the members of Japan SPA Wellness Association, and furthermore, for the development of the industry and for improved customer service. Please look forward to our endeavors.

Japan SPA Wellness Association offers appropriate knowledge and education to our estheticians so that they can provide customers with improved service and take pride in their work as they witness the satisfaction of customers. While supporting the growth of estheticians, we are conducting a wide variety of activities to spread and further develop esthetics industry as a whole in Japan.
Activities
1. We work towards creating a unified professional certification system for estheticians.
We aim to spread the JEO Certified Esthetician Advanced-level Test, the highest level of certification in Japan.
2. We aim to increase the number of estheticians with the k of estheticians with the knowledge, technology, and pleasant personality that
- Special courses (How to talk pleasantly, English conversation for salon, Customer service manner)
- Academic conferences (lectures that cover a wide variety of genres delivered by professionals in various fields, and presentations on the effects of esthetics treatment)
- Esthetics competition (students and non-students of certified schools from various countries compete their best techniques and customer service)
- Training tour with an emphasis on overseas esthetics
3. Qualification certification exams and certifications that prove the level of theoretical knowledge and techniue, differentiating our estheticians from others.
- Beauty therapist （= JEO (Organization) certified Advanced-level test）
- International beauty therapist
- Depilation
- Diet professional
- Spa therapist
- Preventive care esthetician
- Service manner examination etc…
⇒We offer effective test preparation courses that pinpoint the main points.
⇒We contribute to increasing awareness of certified estheticians and employment opportunities.
4. We train certified instructors who can provide high quality esthetics education.
To unify the level of each certification instructors, we conduct regular training sessions.
5. We organize volunteer activities at seniors homes.
We employ a certification system for qualifying nursing care estheticians to enrich our customers’ qualify of life.
6. We educate internationally certified professionals who can also work overseas.
We administer the national examination for the mutual international certification（IPSN）
